Hey there, I’m Shari!
I made the move from the Windy City (Chicago) to Music City in 2021 to attend Lipscomb University’s Marriage and Family Therapy program.
As a therapist, I strive to provide a space where you can be seen, heard, honored and supported in your growth, no matter what that looks like for you. I work collaboratively with you, showing up as a cheerleader when you need motivation, a coach when you need tough love or a nudge to step outside of your comfort zone, and a teacher when you are seeking to understand your patterns and cycles.
I practice an integrative, evidence-based approach to therapy that includes Cogntive-Behavioral, Solution Focused, Bowen, Restoration and Gottman interventions.
When I’m not in therapist mode, I enjoy cooking, traveling, concerts, finding new restaurants to try, and a good Netflix binge! I also love spending time with family, friends and my schnauzer/terrier mix, Onyx.
My training
I have a bachelor’s degree in Radio & Television Production from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, a Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University, and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Lipscomb University. I am currently practicing under a temp license and under the supervision of Cadey Phipps, LMFT (license #1348). Additionally, I have completed Level 1 training in Gottman Couples Therapy.
Who I work with:
Women who are struggling to figure out who they are and what they want
Women who are struggling with low self-esteem or self-worth, anxiety, depression, and grief/loss
Women who are experiencing separation/divorce or healing from a difficult breakup
Couples who are trying to decide next steps for their marriage or relationship
Families dealing with the aftermath of separation/divorce; blended families
I might be the right therapist for you if:
You’d like a space where you can be seen, heard, honored and supported in your growth
You want a space where you can just be yourself
You’d need someone who will challenge you, but also encourage you along the way
You want practical tools you can use outside of the therapy space
You need a judgment-free zone
You don’t mind a little humor and laughter during your sessions
